Many assume silicone never molds, but organic components in the formulation, processing residue and warehouse humidity can absolutely grow mold on silicone products during storage and sea freight. Silicone itself resists microbes well, but silicone products are not pure silicone:
- Organic additives: curing agents, fillers, plasticizers and mold release agents feed mold;

- Storage/shipping: silicone surfaces absorb moisture; warehouse humidity above 65% or container condensation triggers mold.

4. Common Mistakes
- Mistake 1: Silicone does not need protection. Export food-grade silicone must be treated;
- Mistake 2: Heat destroys it. Quality silicone agents (organic zinc) tolerate curing heat – check the rated temperature;
