iHeir-ECO Plastic Antibacterial Agent
Product Overview
iHeir-ECO is a high-efficiency, internal addition type plastic antibacterial agent provided by Ai Hao Er (China) Co., Ltd. Unlike traditional surface spray technologies, this product is incorporated as a masterbatch that fully integrates with the plastic substrate. The antibacterial component is uniformly distributed throughout the entire part, both inside and on the surface. Even if the product surface wears down over long-term use, the internal portion retains excellent antibacterial activity, providing truly durable and reliable protection.
Core Technology: Internal Addition Antibacterial Plastic Technology
The iHeir materials engineering team synthesizes the active antibacterial ingredients into a specialized masterbatch, which is then mixed with ordinary raw materials during the plasticization process and directly molded using conventional injection molding, extrusion, or other processes. The antibacterial agent is uniformly distributed throughout the entire product, not merely attached to the surface. The advantages of this technology are:
-
Long-lasting & Wear-resistant: The antibacterial component permeates the entire product, maintaining antibacterial function even after surface wear.
-
Does Not Compromise Surface Properties: No surface cracking or peeling, preserving the product’s original appearance and hand feel.
-
Easy to Use: Compatible with existing plastic processing technologies; simply add the masterbatch during the compounding stage.
Scope of Application
iHeir-ECO exhibits excellent thermal stability, withstanding processing temperatures up to 240°C. It is suitable for the following polymer systems:
-
Polyolefins: Polypropylene (PP), Low-density/High-density Polyethylene (LDPE/HDPE)
-
Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Copolymer (EVA)
-
Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA), Polystyrene (PS)
-
Unsaturated Polyester, Polyurethane (PU), Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU)
-
Urea-formaldehyde Resin, Latex, Cellulose Acetate
-
PVC, ABS (subject to case-by-case verification)
Typical Applications: Sanitary products (toothbrushes, toilet seats), household appliances, trash cans, shoe insoles, mats, hospital equipment, etc.
Product Advantages
-
Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial: Highly effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Extremely low Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations (MIC), e.g., E. coli 0.02~0.5 ppm, S. aureus 0.01~0.1 ppm. Also effectively inhibits bacteria associated with body odor (Corynebacterium minutissimum, Micrococcus luteus, Proteus species, etc.).
-
Safe & Environmentally Friendly: Suitable for applications with high safety requirements such as cosmetics, toothpaste, and soaps; safe for humans and the environment.
-
High Thermal Stability: TGA testing shows only 35.2% weight loss at 240°C, making it suitable for high-temperature processing.
-
Globally Registered: Ingredients are registered in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Japan, Korea, the United States, and approved for food-contact plastics in many countries.
