iHeir-FP Foam Antibacterial Agent
Product Overview
iHeir-FP Foam Antibacterial Agent is a high-efficiency, broad-spectrum liquid antibacterial additive specifically designed for foam materials. This clear liquid, whose main component is quaternary ammonium salt, offers excellent stability and water solubility, being miscible with water in any proportion. It effectively kills bacteria, fungi, yeast, and algae, and is widely suitable for antibacterial treatment of foam materials such as PP, PE, PVC, EVA, EPS, PU, and silicone rubber. It helps manufacturers produce foam products with long-lasting antibacterial properties, such as antibacterial shoe materials, antibacterial foam packaging, antibacterial cushions, etc.
Mechanism of Action
iHeir-FP employs a unique physical-chemical synergistic sterilization mechanism. Its active components are easily adsorbed by bacteria and viruses, rapidly acting on the cell wall or cell membrane system. They bind with cell phospholipid compounds, puncture the membrane structure, causing intracellular contents to leak out. Simultaneously, they inhibit the activity of key enzymes on the membrane, blocking bacterial division and reproduction. Additionally, the polymer structure clogs the microorganisms’ respiratory pathways, causing them to suffocate. This multi-mechanism action not only provides high sterilization efficiency but also makes it difficult for resistance to develop.
Performance Characteristics
-
High Efficiency: Achieves an antibacterial rate of over 99.99% even at low addition levels.
-
Safe: Non-toxic, non-irritating to skin, mucous membranes, and eyes, with no allergic reactions.
-
Stable: Stable to light and heat, maintaining activity over a wide pH range of 1–11.
-
Long-lasting: Bacteria are not prone to developing resistance, providing durable antibacterial effects.
-
Environmentally Friendly: Colorless, odorless, non-volatile, contains no heavy metals, halogens, phenols, or aldehydes, and is non-corrosive to processing equipment.
Toxicological Data
iHeir-FP has undergone multiple toxicological tests demonstrating high safety:
| Test Item | Result |
|---|---|
| Acute Oral Toxicity | LD50 > 5000 mg/kg (mouse) – practically non-toxic |
| Skin Irritation | Mean skin reaction score in rabbits = 0 – practically non-irritating |
| Micronucleus Test | No micronucleus-inducing effect |
| Sperm Morphology Test | No teratogenic effect on male mouse sperm |
| Accumulative Toxicity | Weak accumulation (accumulation coefficient K > 5) |
| Skin Sensitization | Sensitization rate = 0% – no sensitizing effect |
Scope of Application
