iHeir-IP1001 Inorganic Zinc Ion Composite Antibacterial Agent

iHeir-IPI001 Inorganic Zinc Ion Composite Antibacterial Agent

Product Overview

iHeir-IPI001 is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent using an inorganic zinc ion complex as the active ingredient, specifically designed for plastics, rubber, and similar products. It slowly releases zinc ions, which disrupt bacterial cell structures through a dual mechanism of electrostatic adsorption and chemical reaction, inhibiting bacterial reproduction and providing long-lasting, safe surface antibacterial protection for finished products. It is a white powder with high temperature resistance, excellent anti-discoloration properties, easy dispersibility, and complies with environmental and food contact safety requirements.

Mechanism of Action

Bacterial surfaces typically carry a negative charge, while zinc ions carry a positive charge. The zinc ions released by iHeir-IPI001 are adsorbed onto the bacterial surface, disrupting their electrolyte balance and causing cell wall damage leading to death. Simultaneously, zinc ions enter the bacteria, react with cellular enzymes, inhibit enzyme activity, and block bacterial reproduction and regeneration, thereby achieving a highly effective, broad-spectrum bactericidal effect.

Product Features

  • Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial: Effectively inhibits the growth of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

  • Inorganic Material, High Temperature Resistance: Excellent thermal stability, can withstand processing temperatures above 380°C, suitable for high-temperature plastic molding processes.

  • Long-Lasting Stability: Antibacterial components are released slowly and continuously for a durable effect.

  • Excellent Anti-Discoloration: Special technology controls the release rate of metal ions, making it resistant to discoloration during mixing and long-term use, with good UV resistance.

  • Good Dispersibility: Particle size D90 < 3μm, resistant to agglomeration, can be uniformly dispersed in various substrates.

  • Safe & Environmentally Friendly: Contains no arsenic or tin, no VOCs, no bioaccumulation, does not cause persistent environmental pollution. Complies with EU environmental regulations and can be used in food contact materials.

‌Frequently Asked Questions
Q:What is the recommended addition rate for iHeir-IPI001 in plastic or rubber products? +
A: The recommended addition rate for iHeir-IPI001 is 0.8% to 1.0% based on the total product weight. However, the actual addition rate should be adjusted according to factors such as the product's specific requirements, the type of substrate, and the desired level of antibacterial performance. It is important to optimize the dosage through testing to achieve effective and long-lasting antibacterial protection without compromising the material's physical properties.
Q:How does iHeir-IPI001 achieve its antibacterial effect? +
A: iHeir-IPI001 works by slowly releasing zinc ions, which carry a positive charge. Bacterial surfaces typically have a negative charge, so the zinc ions are adsorbed onto the bacteria, disrupting their electrolyte balance and damaging the cell wall, leading to cell death. Additionally, zinc ions enter the bacteria and react with cellular enzymes, inhibiting enzyme activity and blocking bacterial reproduction. This dual mechanism provides a highly effective, broad-spectrum bactericidal effect against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Q:Is iHeir-IPI001 safe for use in food contact materials? +
A: Yes, iHeir-IPI001 is safe for use in food contact materials. It contains no arsenic or tin, no VOCs, and does not bioaccumulate, so it does not cause persistent environmental pollution. It complies with EU environmental regulations and is specifically designed to meet food contact safety requirements. This makes it suitable for applications such as tableware, kitchen utensils, and food contact plastic products, ensuring both safety and effective antibacterial protection.
